Who is Lee?
A Florida native, I graduated from Stetson University in 1987 with a degree in finance. I launched my career in Tampa, managing a boutique investment broker-dealer that catered to independent financial planners. In 1991, I moved to Atlanta where I helped a similar firm, Buckhead Financial, grow exponentially, also helping its affiliated financial planners grow their independent practices. That was the year I began working with Cornerstone Financial and its principal, Don Dusick, in a vendor capacity.
In 1996, I moved to the marketing side of the industry and became a wholesaler of alternative investments, including real estate investment trusts (REITS). In this role, I trained financial planners on product features and how they might fit into a diversified financial plan.
Since 1999, I have worked for several worldwide insurance companies as a specialist and trainer in annuities, IRAs, Roth IRAs, long-term care insurance, and group/employee retirement benefits. Most recently, during my last five years at MetLife, I supervised a team responsible for the management of over $500 billion in insurance company separately managed accounts for large legacy pension plans.
My partner, Patrick McCrary, and I work side-by-side in Midtown, on 14th street near Atlantic Station. For 22 years we have shared our love of real estate investing and spend half of our weekends in the Cherokee National Forest in East Tennessee. We share a passion for scuba diving and have logged over 75 dives together. We also love snow skiing and became legally married in Canada's British Columbia on the Peak-to-Peak Gondola at Whistler/Blackcomb.
